Sports Manager Location Leeds Salary GBP 27,000 - 31,000 Annum Benefits Membership Contract type Full-time Main responsibilities
I need to:
To contribute to the achievement of the club’s results. To proactively contribute to the club ‘Annual Operating Plan’ (AOP), making recommendations that will ultimately deliver the club targets. To ensure that me and the team contribute to the open and close duties required for the club to operate. To support the achievement of the club’s member satisfaction and member count growth targets by ensuring that an excellent and dynamic programme of activities is provided that matches the needs of your members in terms of activity type and consistency of delivery. To inspire the Sport Activities team to deliver our Brand Standards and to ensure that our members have the best experience possible, maximising income opportunities and ensuring ease of member usage across the club in sporting activities. Promote the brand positively in terms of sporting and health and fitness expertise. Ensure that I maximise value for money for members, grow sales, drive retention and reduce attrition through the key tasks of member engagement, enhancing brand standards and member participation. Ensure that myself and my team contribute to the open and close duties required for the club to operate. Ensure that myself and the team deliver the David Lloyd Leisure Brand Standards. Ensure that myself and the team increase the number of members taking David Lloyd sports products Ensure that all product revenue lines are delivered to budget whilst costs are kept within budget
What do I need to achieve?
With my people/team I need to:
Recruit and develop team members to the David Lloyd standard (expertise, skills and values driven behaviour). Be a role model for and lead and inspire my team to successfully perform and exceed against the business goals. Let them know how they are performing by carrying out regular one to ones and formal Performance and Development Reviews. Ensure that my team are really clear on our performance standards and I know how to get the best out of each of them. Always listen, understand, reflect and then act. Ensure that my team have the knowledge, experience and understanding of the products and services and know how to deliver our member experience. Demonstrate growth in our people by developing their competence and capabilities and capture within their Personal Development Plans. Value and recognise my team appropriately. Ensure the team are trained and compliant with the Standard Operations Procedures. Ensure that my team have knowledge, experience and understanding of the products and services that we offer in the club. Ensure that my direct line reports (6) manages his/her direct reports with absolute diligence and compliance to our Health & Safety requirements and standards of care. You are responsible and accountable for his/her actions.
With my members I need to:
Take the lead in interacting and communicating with members and actively promoting ways to add value to the service offering. Ensuring that complaints are responded to effectively in the club – channels of communication include (but are not exclusive to) comment cards, members survey, mystery members, member forums and sales & membership team. Ensure that the reception team deliver a great service to all our members and that the team strive to improve member engagement. Ensure that the reception team book members’ courses and classes compliant to the bookings policy. Ensure that the facility if maintained to the highest standards. Ensure that all requirements of the Children’s Safety Guide are adhered to and ensure the needs of the children are a priority in line with the guide across all department areas.
How will I know I’ve been successful?
‘Maximise Your Membership’ performance- Member Focus. Participation in sports products- Member Focus. Sports revenue lines achieved and grown- Excellence.
